Alie and I shot two segments. For one segment, we created three holiday-based cocktails - a coconut based concoction we coined the Meshugana Macaroon, our take on an Old Fashioned using muddled candied orange peels we call Coal In Your Stocking, and a concoction that was basically a fruitcake in a glass which we garnished with, what else, a cube of deep fried fruitcake. We named that cocktail after Alie's fruitcake loving aunt - Aunt Norma's Nutcase Fruitcake. Alie and I closed the show along with Johnny and Dave by clumsily helping Johnny make some delicious peppermint chocolate bark.
The holiday special, which has had appearances from other notable party peeps like Dr. Mixologist himself, Mr. Darryl Robinson, aired last Sunday on the Cooking Channel. Alie and I were both SO nervous about our performance, but we were beyond pleased with the way our segments turned out.
It airs again tomorrow, December 3rd, and again on the 4th. If you get the Cooking Channel, I'd just love it if you watched the show! You'll get to see/hear me guffaw and make bad jokes about eating chocolate chips straight from the bag, and watch my mixologist know-how in action! You can see the all the dates the show will be airing throughout the month, along with recipes for all the holiday cocktails from the show here: Holiday on the Rocks
Also, because I am a total nerd and this was my first time on real life television, I of course taped the commercial with the help of my crappy camera and shaky hand, which you can watch here:
