Last night I had the. best. barbecue sandwich I've ever had...at a vegan restaurant. That is to say, it wasn't the best barbecue sandwich I've ever had at a vegan restaurant, it was the best barbecue sandwich I've ever had, period, and it happened to be from a vegan restaurant. My lovely girlfriends, Meghan and Kathy [Kathy, you need to start a blog already!], took me to Pure Luck off Melrose and, holy hell, that was probably the best dining experience I've had since I've been back in LA.
I'm a unapologetic (okay, maybe a little apologetic) carnivore, but this place was enough to make me rethink that. Aside from the best.barbeque.sandwich.ever. (the "meat" was made from Jackfruit), they had deep fried pickles (!!!) which were beyond delicious, and a bunch of really great, inexpensive beers on tap (I had an Arrogant Bastard). The list of people I have to take here is extensive.
Me making a funny face and being ever-so dainty with my left hand, but not caring because there's beer!, and deep fried pickles!, and a the best barbecue sandwich ever!.I can't wait to eat the leftovers at lunch. What are you having for lunch today?
