-gas in my car so I wouldn't die on the 10 freeway because I was too broke to put gas in my car = $20

Unless you've seriously paid your dues, anything non-essential to living (booze and any food more than 99cents) that your friends buy you when you're broke is either a) Owed back to them when they are broke or b) paid forward to another broke friend when you aren't. not "free".

My good friends know me well enough to know that I'm a generous person...and also care about me enough to know that I'm going through some rough shit right now, and not taking advantage of them. I know I'm lucky to have them in my life and can depend on them...even if it's for a much needed fun night out.
Just like how I know I can always rely on you to be an asshole.
I know you're not like that, but if i didn't know you i would have read this post as like "wow princess"
